St. Michael Catholic Parish
Snohomish Washington
Our Community Garden

The St. Michael Community Garden was started in 2009 as part of the SnoGrow program. SnoGrow is an initiative of churches of all denominations and garden Clubs in Snohomish who cooperate to grow produce for the food banks in the Community.

The project at St. Michaels was funded by a grant from the Master Gardeners Association of Washington and the Archdiocese of  Seattle with funds from the annual “Rice Bowl” collection.   The garden was also fortunate to have the fencing and arbor erected by Kevin Iverson as his Eagle Scott community project.

The Garden has now been put to bed nestled in its blanket of straw and black plastic. Despite the long, cold spring and short summer, the harvest produced over 500 lbs. of produce which was all donated to the Snohomish Food Bank. Six faithful volunteers were responsible for this, Catherine Parks, Dolores Wagner, Lisa Tuckett, Pam Stephens and Sue & Jack Stiegler.

All volunteers are appreciated, no matter how much or how little time you are able to donate. There has been some interest shown through the Stewardship Campaign and we will be contacting everyone in February or March

Volunteers are always needed and you can do so by calling the parish office or Emailing smpgardenangels@comcast.net .
